Blackjack Strategies for Beginners
- Aces and 8s:
- If you have an Ace and an 8, apply the “splitting pairs” strategy. Splitting Aces gives you a chance for a better hand.
- Aces and 10s:
- If you have an Ace and a 10-value card (10, J, Q, K), you have a “natural Blackjack.” In this case, no additional cards are needed.
- 5s and 6s:
- If the dealer’s face-up card is a 5 or 6 and your total is between 12-16, employ the “stand” strategy. The dealer is likely to bust, and you may win without drawing more cards.
- 2s and 3s:
- When your total is 12, and the dealer’s face-up card is a 2 or 3, apply the “hit” strategy and draw the next card. Since the dealer is likely to bust, improving your hand is crucial.
- 17 and Above:
- If your total is 17 or more, use the “stand” strategy. Drawing more cards in this situation can be risky.
- 11 or Below:
- If your total is 11 or less, use the “hit” strategy and draw the next card.
- 10s:
- If your total is 10, and the dealer’s face-up card is 9 or lower, use the “double down” strategy. You can double your initial bet in this situation.
- A, 7s, and 8s:
- If you have an Ace and a 7 or 8, use the “double down” strategy. You can double your initial bet in this situation.
